When AI Meets the Corpus: An AI-Supported Corpus Activity

Hello everyone! Welcome the first post of this semester. In this course, We started learning how to use a corpus and as a first assignment, we were given  a task about creating an AI-enhanced corpus-based teaching material and a lesson plan. It was one of the hardest task because designing activities related to the corpus was a little complicated when I just learned about it even though it was a group task. Moreover, the activity should consist of four part and this makes the assignment more challenging. However, I think I manage to finish this task successfully with my lovely friends Reyyan and Elif. You can check their blogs by clicking on their names.

Although using this material in real classroom can be innovative, It can cause some problems. One of the most important issue is inequality in access to technology. To use Corpus and AI effectively, it is required a degree of digital literacy and, though most of the students have the internet access, those who does not have  it or the enough digital literacy, it can be more compelling.

In our last week, we received some feedback from both our instructor and our friends. According to these feedback, we needed to add a close-ended activity to our worksheet. Also, they suggested that changing place of some activities should be better to avoid any confusion and some instruction should be shorten. Therefore, we review these feedbacks and reorganize our worksheet.
